  1. Short:    Keymap for US kbd, with easier accents

  6. This is a replacement Amiga keymap (keyboard driver) for US-style keyboards.
  7. It is fully identical to the default USA keymap built into the KickStart ROM
  8. except that accents and somer other internation characters are easier to reach.

  10. In addition to all existing key combinations (the ones I added were previously
  11. unused), you now have the following "dead" keys to get an accent over the next
  12. letter you type:

  24. Of course this will only work if that particular combination of accent and
  25. letter is available; otherwise you get the letter without accent.  Note that any
  26. of these accents can also be applied to the space bar.

  28. The old accents under alt-f, alt-g, alt-h, alt-j, and alt-k are still there if
  29. you are used to them, so if you need to type accents regularly there's really no
  30. reason not to use my new keymap.

  48. The keymap was created by editing one of the keyboard drivers on my Workbench
  49. 3.0 disks using EditKeys by David Kinder.  So far it has only been used on
  50. A4000s running OS version 3.0 (V39), but to my knowledge it should work on all
  51. Amiga systems.  If there are any requests, I'll be happy to add these shortcuts
  52. to the other keymaps (d/Deutsch, n/Norsk, gb/British etc) as well.
